I am looking at customizing the exhaust on a 2001 Ford Ranger 2.3L. I was wondering if I could put true duals on it without changing the sound or making it sound like a bumblebee? Also, I was going to pipe the exhaust out behind the doors. Any thoughts on this? I am new to this and I am looking for advice. Thanks, Bruce.

Putting a true dual will change the sound. It won't alter the performance as long as it is done properly.

Thank you for the assistance, however I made a mistake when typing the original topic. I was not planning on installing true duals, but I was planning on adding a y pipe either after the catalytic converter or the muffler. Any opinions on either option? Also, what about the change in sound vs the stock sound? Any difference. Thanks
