what are you working on?
YoungHeartedSoul wrote: I purchased this pickup October 2016 in Maine and drove it down to NY with my baby. it's a 1972 Chevy C-10 6 Cyl 4 speed. I bought it to flip it and my 13 year old daughter fell in love with it and didnt want me to sell it. she wanted me to keep it so we can work on it and she would drive it when she started college in a few years. 2 weeks after this she passed away due to a pedestrian accident. I am trying to restore it as best as i can and with limited funds. I miss my baby so much, we were best friends. I raised her alone as a widowed dad and that made us even bond more.

So sorry for your loss. It must be very rough going through what you are. I acquired my Uncle's 32 Chevy when he passed away. Every time I look at it (daily) it reminds me of him. I always think of the fun times, and know he's waiting on me to get started on the restoration of that bucket of rust!

It is a 2.0. Originally they came fuel injected, the FI stuff had already been removed.

Phil, I know your really right about keeping it old school. I even thought about going with a flat head. But I'm planning on this being my retirement fun car and would love to make some cross country drives. For that reason it really needs to be very reliable.
The color of the 57 is actually a Ford color Blue Flame SZ it's common on their late model F150. I used PPG and he put in a little extra metallic. If the link works below watch the paint when the sun hits it.

Would like to find a reasonably priced upholstery shop.
I'm in the Nashville, TN area, I am doing a lot of the upholstery myself but I can not sew and need help at different stages of my project. My problem as soon as the shops I have tried find out about my car they want a arm and a leg for their work. Example, I have 4 fiberglass armrest that I want to have wrapped using a french stitch along the edge, total sewing, less then 4 feet. Next I need to wrap two kick panels I built with speaker pods on them. I supplied all the material, upholstery shop wants $350, to me this is less then 2 hours work, $150 tops.

Here is one of my projects, my only VW. It's a 1978 Bus. I shipped the engine from Nashville, TN to Brothers in Chino CA to have the engine rebuilt. I still need to purchase some tin and a few other parts before I get it back in. Body still has some rust that needs removed.

I have been working on my 57 for a long time. It does run but still plenty of gremlins to work out and still working on doing some of the upholstery myself. My 32 Chevy I acquired when my uncle passed away. I am actually wanting to put in a LS motor and make it a daily driver.
