AWD brake upgrade
If you think I needed to decide if I wanted the brake upgrade or just bragging rights to say I had “Brembos”, you thought you were talking to a kid. You didn’t have to specify.

In the Mopar catalog there is only one part designation on the uconnect systems for the v6, Hemi and SRT Hemi’s. That meant that the programs were in there. A little time spent google searching and I stumbled upon a device called a tazer. Very nifty tool if you have a late model LX body. Also works to a limited degree on Durango’s and Grand Cherokee’s

I also work at Jeep building the Wrangler so I get the chance to talk to a lot of people in the know.

However i I posted the brake question because it is VERY specific to AWD Chargers. Hoped that someone else that had one may have cracked that egg.

Did I’d make some headway on my own though. Some people know that the LX bodies are based on mid 2000 Mercedes technology. I found that some of the factory equipped Brembos bolt right up to your calipers. Then it was just a matter of further research to find a caliper that fit over my same size rotors. After some searching found a cheap set of front calipers at a salvage yard that I can rebuild. Even if they do not actually fit my car and are compatible with the abs system I can turn around and sell them for about 500% more then what I would have spent buying, rebuilding and powder coating them myself if the prices on eBay are any indication. I will also be a step closer to finding out what could work by eliminating what doesn’t.

So that last part was for other AWD Mopar owners. I will update as the project progresses.

It’s really hard to imagine a person who thought that douche bag was both funny and of the same mindset to critique the diction of the shows hosts. Yeah, think “viv” is nekko too

AWD brake upgrade
I’m 40 years old, not an idiot kid. I know precisely why I want the Brembos. My car weighs nearly two and a half tons and I want to know I can stop safely as I make power upgrades. It handles well for a big car but has nothing on my old Mustang. I have the ONLY brake upgrade available to an AWD RT. Powerstop rotors and brakes. The pursuit package on the cop cars have larger rotors on the rear only but switching to those larger rotors would cause an imbalance between the front and rear brake bias that my car has, as you apparently are aware of as well. Seriously do you think I haven’t done the research? I understand the necessary inner wheel clearance that it also entails. I also know that as an AWD car I can’t just swap out my spindles from an SRT in order to bolt on the bigger stoppers. AWD cars also have a different offset then RWD cars so the spindles won’t fit the ass end either. Unless I want to swap out a lot more parts. Modern Mopar’s before 2015 are easier to program and I know how to set the electronic speedo for whatever wheel and tire size I run. It’s also how I managed to scrape as much potential as possible with bolt ons out of the 345 cubes I have. 13.8 @ 101mph is ok but when my power train warranty is up that’s when the real fun will start and I build the bottom end for a nice positive displacement blower. So there you go, that’s why I need better brakes. If you feel the need to explain simple concepts to kids I’m sure there is a ricer forum out there where you would be a king. I asked for constructive ideas not remedial automotive trivia.

The the pics are from my non SRT car. I don’t know much about cars (😂) but I somehow figured out how to unlock the SRT pages. When I first unlocked them it was only pushing 360 of the 370 advertised horses. Then I tuned it. 08839009-BF42-4D59-A81E-07D61FBC580E.jpeg  C74397AD-32E0-45B5-8409-E5AEF438EB5E.png

Yes, it pretty much is the same thing. If two of us ask maybe we will get a quicker response. [wink]
It's what I had in mind before I ever saw your post, and I wanted to let them know that I have prior experience if they ever need any help policing the forums.

Thank you pnadmin!, Now how do we report the next one, because as a longtime user/owner/operator of forums I know there will be more?

Strange, basically the same thing I said with different words.

AWD brake upgrade
Hey gearheads, I have searched all over the internet and exchanged an electrical ton of emails but I can not find a way to upgrade my 14 RT's brakes to the SRT Brembos. Anyone have any constructive ideas?

However is there an easier way to report problem people? Nothing prevents him from creating a new email and rejoining.
